Nisa cheese is a Portuguese cheese originating from Nisa town in the Alto Alentejo region.
It is a protected designation of origin, in accordance with the standards of the European Union.
Made from sheep's milk cheese is a semi hard cured color between white and yellow. Their production involves the coagulation of raw milk, after which it proceeds to the draining of the curd slowly using a thistle infusion. In small size, has a weight of between 200 and 400 g. In normal size, presents between 800 and 1300 g.
