Queijo do Pico is a Portuguese cheese originating from Pico Island, belonging to the Autonomous Region of the Azores. Is a protected designation of origin, according to the EU standards, since October 1996.
Made with raw cow's milk, it is a cured cheese, obtained by slow draining of the curd, after the use of rennet of animal origin. Healing must take at least 20 days.
